Onion foot pads
This traditional home remedy can help soothe a cough for both adults and children. Onions are believed to have natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, which may support the body in easing respiratory discomfort.

You can also create your own coughing syrup just by diceing a small onion into a jar and adding honey. Let it sit for 24 hours strain it well and keep the liquid. Take a tsp or two as needed as a cough syrup. Because honey doesn't expire. Just store it in the fridge until it's Gone!

How it works
The soles of the feet have some of the largest pores on the body. When applied in this way, the onion’s natural compounds are believed to be absorbed, helping to calm coughing and support respiratory comfort.
Note: This remedy is intended as a supportive home practice. If coughing persists or worsens, consult a healthcare professional.
Instructions
How to Prepare:
1. Dice the Onion: Cut a fresh onion into small pieces.
2. Prepare the Pad: Spread a thin layer of the diced onion onto a clean paper towel or cloth, sized to fit the bottom of each foot.
3. Wrap with Plastic: Place the onion-covered cloth on a piece of plastic wrap slightly larger than the cloth.
4. Apply to Feet: Position your bare foot on top of the prepared pad. Wrap the plastic around your foot, fully enclosing the cloth and onion.
5. Secure with Socks: Put on a sock to keep the pad in place and to prevent any mess.
6. Relax: Lie down and leave the onion pads on for at least 30–60 minutes or more.
